Home Is Where You Make It

I find myself always making future plans. Trying to align the details of our lives so everything fits perfectly. Over the last five months our plans and lives have changed so much. They are about to change again, but I'm learning that God does "perfect" much better than I ever could.
Although our goal has and always will be to take Paisley home, that won't be our next step. Paisley will be moving to a sub acute facility, The Children's Recovery Center, where she will spend the next months of her life. This move is huge for Paisley because it means she is stable enough to not need intensive care. However, she will still need nurses and doctors around the clock, and she needs her mom and dad to learn how to take care of her, so one day she can come home.
Perfect to me is watching my husband pray with my son Sawyer before bed. Perfect is holding Paisley's hand and watching her vibrant, curious eyes on good day. Perfect is sanctifying the moments of holding her in my arms. Perfect is the letters and emails from friends and relatives that remind us that we are not alone in this journey. Perfect is saying yes to a new part of this journey and embracing it, just like Paisley has taught us to.Â
